About Willow Street, PA - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!

Willow Street is a census designated community located in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. As of 2010, the community consisted of over 7,500 residents who live on 5.4 square miles of total area. In the early 1900s, the main street through the town was lined on both sides with willow trees, and this is how the community received its named. With time, the road was made wider and sidewalks were created, so today, only a few of the original willow trees remain in the community.

Willow Street is a small community, but there are some interesting attractions located here. The 1719 Hans Herr House and Museum is one of the most popular attractions, as it is the oldest home in Lancaster County. This site features three German farm houses, a blacksmith shop, several barns, an outdoor bake oven, and a smokehouse. Visitors who are looking of a less educational and more relaxing experience might prefer a night out at Kendig Square Movies 6.

Other attractions that can be enjoyed by Willow Street residents and visitors are located in nearby Lancaster. Families often enjoy visiting the Hands-on House Children’s Museum of Lancaster or learning about the Amish way of life at the Amish Farm and House. More adult attractions include the Fulton Opera House and the Chameleon Club.

Located within a humid continental climate zone, Willow Street residents enjoy four unique seasons throughout the course of the year. Winters are quite cold with average January temperatures falling in the mid-20s. The area accumulates over 45 inches of snow each winter, and snow storms are possible. These frigid conditions require the use of furnace to keep a home’s interior warm while preventing plumbing and pipes from freezing. Spring and fall months can be unpredictable, and summers are hot with average temperatures in the mid-70s. However, temperatures usually exceed 90 degrees several days during the summer, so homeowners need to rely on their air conditioner during these uncomfortable days.
