About Lititz, PA - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!

Lititz is a Lancaster County borough in Pennsylvania, and as of 2012 the population was nearly 9,400 people. This borough was founded by the Moravian Church in 1756, and it was then named after a Bohemian castle near Kunvald. For 100 years, only Moravians were allowed to live in this community, and up until the mid-1800s, only church members could own houses. Lititz states that they have been ranked as the country’s “Coolest Small Town” by Budget Travel, and some of the voting criteria included energy sense, local independent shops, community culture, and heart.

The downtown area of Lititz is an especially vibrant part of this community. It features close to 50 specialty stores, more than 20 different restaurants, and a variety of historical buildings. Julius Sturgis Pretzel Bakery is the oldest of such bakeries in the U.S., and guests can twist their own pretzel. The Wilbur Chocolate Company’s Candy Americana Museum is also located here.

Beyond downtown Lititz there are also interesting attractions and things to see. Elizabeth Farm hosts the annual Gift of Lights Holiday Display, and you can ride on a horse-drawn wagon. Penn Cinema and IMAX shows the newest movies in a comfortable and modern multiplex theater located just south of downtown. Animal enthusiasts may also enjoy visiting the Wolf Sanctuary of Pennsylvania in order to check out the wolves on this 20 acre natural woodland.

Winters in Lititz are very different from the summer season. The low temperatures make the season quite cold, and even high temps barely reach the mid-20s in January. Snow is common, and an average of 45 inches falls each year.  If you are living or visiting Lititz in the winter, you will be thankful to have a reliable heat pump or furnace to keep you warm during the harsh weather.
